Charade - Mountain Circuit
Imagine a mythical ribbon of asphalt, sculpted from volcanic rock. Welcome to the Circuit de Charade, the last "mountain circuit" in Europe.
Forget the monotony of flat tracks: here, you defy gravity in the heart of a breathtaking natural amphitheatre. With its 18 technical bends and demanding elevation, every curve is a physical challenge and every acceleration a leap in the face of ancient volcanoes.

Yes! The day before the big departure, on Friday 3rd July from 17:00 to 21:00, the circuit welcomes you for a welcome party. On the agenda: DJ set, open track to familiarise yourself with the circuit, and early collection of race numbers to arrive with a light mind the next day.
Each category must go to its assigned box.

The circuit gates open on Saturday 4th July from 08:00 for final adjustments and taking possession of the paddocks. Departures are then staggered by format:
DEPARTURE 8H: On the line (access from the pit lane)
DEPARTURE 4H & 2H: End of the village / end of pit lane
10:00 Departure of the 8H format
14:00 Departure of the 4H format
16:00 Departure of the 2H format
The event takes place at Circuit de Charade, in Royat, a few kilometres from Clermont-Ferrand. The course uses the car track and its surroundings — a technical loop with elevation changes, tight turns and fast sections.

Collection is done at the Info Point in the paddocks, at two time slots:
Friday 3rd July from 17:00 to 21:00 Saturday 4th July from 08:00 to 09:30

The race number must be attached vertically to your seat post to allow the officials to identify you. Without a visible and correctly positioned race number, you will be asked to leave the track to rectify this.
The race chip is integrated into the relay bottle — not in the race number. See the question on the relay handover for details.
The relay is done via an official bottle containing the race chip. This bottle is passed from hand to hand at each change of runner — it is what validates the time.
Make sure that each bike in your team is equipped with bottle holders — ideally two: one for your drink, one for the relay bottle.
For safety reasons, time trial bikes (TT) and extensions (tri-bars) are strictly prohibited on the track. This rule applies to all formats.
Road bikes, gravel, cyclocross and mountain bikes are allowed.
A dedicated parking for participants is located directly inside the circuit. It is accessible at the following times:
Friday 17:00 – 21:00 Saturday 08:00 – 20:00
From Clermont-Ferrand, head towards Royat/Charade via the Route de Charade (D941c). Signage will be in place on the day of the event.
